JAKARTA, KalderaNews.com – If you’re looking into doing an MBA or MSc abroad, chances are you’re focusing on the financial aspect. After all, you’ll be missing out on a year’s worth of income, while still having to pay tuition and living expenses. At TIAS School for Business and Society, that doesn’t have to be an issue. We’d be happy to break it down for you.

Tuition and general expenses

Let’s start with your tuition and general expenses. At TIAS, tuition fees are € 37,500 for an MBA and € 23,500 for an MSc. In addition, the Dutch government requires you to have € 10,800 in personal funds at the time you apply for a student visa, to make sure you can afford a year’s worth of living expenses.

BACA JUGA:

Combined, the tuition fees and required funds for living expenses add up to € 48,300 for an MBA or € 34,300 for an MSc—quite a lot of money. Of course, how you want to finance that is largely up to you. Regardless of how you go about it, we offer a substantial discount on your tuition fees and favorable loans. It’s our way of making sure as many international students as possible get the opportunity for personal development, so they can go on to make a difference in the world.

Below is an overview of the discounts and other financing options we offer:

Scholarships: discounts of up to 50%

Applying for a scholarship is part of the enrollment procedure. Based on your test scores, prior education, work experience and the quality of your enrollment essay, your scholarship could cover up to 50% of your tuition if you are doing a Full-time MBA at TIAS. This is a maximum discount that applies to special circumstances. For the Full-time MScBA program, the Orange Tulip Scholarship can grant you a scholarship of up to € 10,000; while it’s up to € 25,000 for MBA.

Most students are awarded a scholarship for 20-25% of their fees, which still is nothing to scoff at.

That’s why we would advise you to base your budget on a 20-25% discount. A 25% scholarship would mean an additional discount of € 9,375 for an MBA or € 5,875 for an MSc (on top of your early bird discount for the MSc).

Savings and sponsors

Financial situation permitting, we would recommend starting to save up well before you plan to set out on your international career. That way, you’ll be less dependent on situations beyond your control when it’s time to start living your dream. You may even have family members willing to help you achieve it through financial aid.

Taking out a favorable loan

It’s definitely worth considering to take out a loan. Depending on the amount of your TIAS tuition discount, you can finance not just the remainder of your tuition, but up to the entire amount for general expenses required by the Dutch government. Our partner in this is Prodigy Finance, an organization that specializes in favorable loans for international students. These loans don’t accumulate interest until after you graduate, and you won’t even have to start paying it off until 4 months after graduation. We can practically guarantee you will have found a job by then, though.

Investing in job security

When you decide to invest in an MBA or MSc education abroad, you’ll want to know what the chances of a suitable job are, so you’ll see a quick return on your investment. We can’t give you a 100% guarantee. However, since TIAS helps its students by facilitating a series of insightful individual sessions with a job coach, mentoring by a career consultant and access to relevant workshops, 96% of our international students finds suitable employment within 3 months after graduation. And that’s not even counting the 25-30% of students who attain job security at our annual Career Day in April!
