
JAKARTA, KalderaNews.com – Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Philippines, officially concluded their SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project with a Closing Ceremony held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Rectorate Meeting Room, UKI Campus, Jakarta.
The event served as a significant moment to appreciate the participation of eleven DMMMSU students who completed a three-week cross-cultural teaching practicum at UKI’s partner schools.
The closing ceremony was attended by faculty leaders, supervising lecturers, and representatives from UKI’s International Affairs Office and Public Relations Bureau.

In a warm and collaborative atmosphere, the DMMMSU students shared their experiences during the SEA-Teacher program, including the challenges and lessons learned while teaching in a new environment.
The participants also presented a captivating traditional Filipino dance performance, enriching the academic setting with cultural appreciation.
The eleven students from DMMMSU who participated in the program were Mark John Lester L. Abellada, Ryan Joshua B. Maglaya, Ermianne L. Casaclang, Rannah Unique N. Lopez, Armhella Mae T. Estoesta, Gecel A. Ortiz, Ana Joyce N. Marcena, Lyrene Joy M. Barnachea, Daniella Anne A. Oredina, Reymark S. Ona, and Irish R. Flores.
They were accompanied by several UKI lecturers, including Dr. Drs. Kerdid Simbolon, M.Pd. from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education; Susanne A.H. Sitohang, S.S., M.A. and Hendrikus Male, S.Pd., M.Hum. from the Faculty of Letters and Languages; Heribertus Adol Bastian P. Abul, S.Sos. from the UKI Public Relations Bureau; and Benedicta Stella Fortunae, S.S., M.Hum. from the UKI International Affairs Office.
The event concluded with a group photo session with the Rector of UKI and the presentation of certificates of participation to all students. Expressions of gratitude from the DMMMSU students and their UKI student buddies highlighted the strong relationships formed during the program.
The SEA-Teacher Project is an initiative of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) aimed at strengthening the competencies of prospective teachers through international practical experience.
Through its active participation in this program, UKI continues to reinforce its role in the global education network and its commitment to strengthening strategic collaborations within the Southeast Asian region.
