Indonesia need more than 5000 professional logisticians per year

Started in 2014 with full funding from the Dutch government, the project has brought together partners from the Netherlands and Indonesia, with Nuffic as the coordinating agency and a consortium of implementing partners consisting of ITB, STC Group, Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Deddy Kurniadi, the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology – ITB, said “we are very pleased with the establishment of a bachelor’s degree in Logistics at FIT-ITB, because there is an obvious need for formal education in logistics”.

Prof. Senator Nur Bahagia who conducted a presentation about the project said: to increase the logistic performance in Indonesia, our estimation is that we need more than 5000 professional logisticians per year”.

Melcher Klink, Senior Policy Advisor in Economics of the Netherlands Embassy to Indonesia said: “without Logistics an economy will not roll. Therefore, promoting this study program will be essential to make Logistics attractive”.
