JAKARTA, KalderaNews.com – The Science Film Festival (SFF) is returning to Indonesia for the 16th time , reaching elementary to high school students in 70 cities and regencies in a hybrid format from November 4–30, 2025. Initiated by the Goethe-Institut , this year’s festival is centered on the critical theme of “Green Jobs”.
The “Green Jobs” theme highlights various occupations vital for environmental protection and sustainable development. These roles offer future-oriented opportunities, enabling the younger generation to address urgent global challenges.

The festival will screen 16 films from seven countries and feature six related interactive science experiments. This aims to inspire youth to love science and the environment.
At the opening, Constanze Michel, Director of the Goethe-Institut for Southeast Asia, emphasized that SFF underscores the important position of Green Jobs for a more sustainable future.
Vice Minister Stella Christie added that science, through film, can “reignite the spirit for critical thinking, creating solutions, and acting for the earth”.
Over 300 students attended the opening, watching the German film, Nine-and-a-half: Underwater Noise – Why is the Ocean so Loud? , followed by the “Anti-gravity” experiment. For the first time, a German theatrical performance, Foolish Doom, about a wizard facing the climate crisis, was also presented
